What are the basic needs of children and young people? Why do I need to know and understand them?
These are obvious questions and yet, in my many years of experience, have not been fully and deeply researched by some who have been involved in work with children and young people.
This course offers a unique hierarchy of basic needs, a hierarchy discovered, researched in practice, and proved over five decades of long-lasting relationships with the young. A unique and different-to-the-usual definition of the word education, given to me by a Latin scholar who was an Oxbridge university Vice Chancellor, will play an important part in considering not only the physical needs of the young but the psychological and spiritual needs also.
